Art is for sale at the Downtown Art Fair, but it's also created on the day of the event. These two young artists proudly display their hand-painted tote bags.

The annual outdoor event on the lawn of the Old Central School in Grand Rapids allows visitors to meet area artists and peruse over 30 vendor booths with paintings, ceramics, jewelry and more.

Other activities include artist John Zasada demonstrating birch bark and basswood bark weaving and Curt Mangseth showing his cedar strip canoe. According to MacRostie Art Center Executive Director Katie Marshall, he’s really excited to display his work.

The fair also includes activities for kids of all ages, like painting tiny canvasses or playing giant Jenga, cornhole and lawn chess.

Listen to Marshall’s full conversation on the Morning Show above.
