Live music taking place Oct. 16-18, 2026 in Northern Minnesota.

KAXE's weekly list of concerts near you features Christopher David Hanson, Maliboozhoo, Corey Medina & Brothers, Skarlett Woods, and a Sharon Rowbottom Memorial Concert.

We've got our first Canyon show, a trip to California in Cass Lake, a memorial concert for a beloved Iron Range musician, and more on this week's Setlist

First up, Christopher David Hanson is playing The Dawghouse Bar & Grill in Canyon, 7 p.m. Friday night. I love to feature a new town or community, and I believe this is the first time Canyon makes an appearance on The Setlist. Hanson is a roots-rocker always busy with multiple projects and his country, folk, blues and rock fusing solo music.

Also Friday, California duo Maliboozhoo are playing Logjammerz in Cass Lake at 8 p.m. Besides the 10/10, no-notes name, they are a Native blues and fiddle duo bringing Malibu beach vibes to Northern Minnesota. After their set there will be an open jam.

On to Saturday, Corey Medina & Brothers are playing the Armory Arts & Events Center in Park Rapids, 7 p.m. The electric blues trio features the Diné singer, guitarist and songwriter with Gary Broste on bass and Eric Sundeen on drums.

Special to KAXE
A smiling Corey Medina performs at Riverfest on Sept. 7, 2024 in Grand Rapids.

Skarlett Woods is playing The Ripple Center Underground in Aitkin, also Saturday at 7 p.m. She is a singer-songwriter and seven-string guitarist who draws from the jazzier side of folk, like Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones, as well as Americana and rock.

Wrapping up The Setlist with a late addition (thus, you won't hear it on audio portion), the Sharon Rowbottom Memorial Concert is this Sunday at the Ore House in Gilbert. Rowbottom, a key member of the Iron Range music scene since the early '80s, died Aug. 27, 2026.

The Ore House Memorial will feature two stages, beginning with Rich Mattson & Germaine Gemberling at 2 p.m., Jayne's Jukebox Junkie at 2:40 p.m., Willy & The Rangers at 3 p.m., Mel Annala at 3:40 p.m., Vitamin Brown at 4 p.m., Cowboy Angel Blue at 4:40 p.m., The Divas at 5 p.m., Thor Leseman at 5:40 p.m., The Dithyrambs at 6 p.m. and a grand finale set at 6:40 p.m.
