We're not quite there, but every day we get a little closer to outdoor concerts!
Is there a summer concert series in your town or neck of the woods? We would love to know about it, please send info to music@kaxe.org for inclusion on The Setlist.
First up, Karl Sundquist has an EP release show at CHAIR in Virginia, Thursday at 7 p.m. Sundquist is an Iron Range Americana and folk-rock singer-songwriter who also leads the band Owler. His debut EP is called Owl Over Fox, and after his solo show, Owler will also perform.
On Friday, The Miletici Trio are at Smoke on the Water. This Sam Miltich project focuses more on Eastern European and Balkan folk traditions than the hot club and straight-ahead jazz of his regular band. 5 p.m. in Coleraine.
Later that night, Americana and folk singer-songwriter Eli Gardiner is playing Sampaguita in Aitkin. He is a thoughtful songwriter inspired by artists like John Moreland and Jason Isbell, and he recently dropped a new single called “Silver.” 7 p.m. Friday.
On to Saturday, Corey Medina is playing a duo show at Sundown Records in Bemidji at 6:30 p.m. Joining him will be Eric Sundeen, drummer from his backing band Brothers for a stripped-down take on their normal electric blues.
Finally, you can catch Skarlett Woods at Revel Brewing in Park Rapids, Saturday at 7 p.m. The folk-rock singer-songwriter pairs smart songwriting with terrific jazz guitar skills. In 2023, she released her debut album Letters to the West.
