PARK RAPIDS — The second Songwriter Showcase will be Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Armory Event Center in Park Rapids.
The Songwriter Showcase will host artists sharing original work as well as stories of the songwriting process.
Chas Bettendorf will emcee, with featured songwriters including Scott Jasmin, Doyle Turner, Ben Cook-Feltz, Doug Collins and Carla Ulbrich.
Jasmin, of Park Rapids, will present songs that “depict the highs and lows, romance and heartbreak, victories, defeats and mundanity of everyday life in a Midwestern small town.”
Turner is a Northern Minnesota singer/songwriter from the White Earth Nation, with his latest album, Sweet, Difficult Sounds released in September 2022. Turner’s music is described as a mix of folk, rock and Americana.
Tickets are $20 and available at the door, as well as in advance at the Armory Gallery.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase during the event.
