BEMIDJI — Republican Sen. Steve Green will continue serving in St. Paul after defeating two challengers on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Green, of Fosston, was first elected to the Minnesota House in 2012, moving onto the Senate in the 2022 election. He is the ranking minority member on the Senate's Environment, Climate and Legacy Committee.
Green was challenged by DFLer Dan Rogers, a retired teacher in northern Hubbard County, as well as United New Independence Party member Calvin Larson Jr., an independent contractor in Clearwater County.
State Senate District 2 includes all of Lake of the Woods, Clearwater, Mahnomen and Beltrami counties, as well as portions of Becker, Hubbard and Cass counties.
Green will begin his second four-year term in the state Senate in January.
