COLERAINE — Greenway hockey moms are raising money for the family of a Greenway kindergartener who is fighting for his life after saving his little brother's.

Ashkan Thibodeaux, 5, and his younger brother Wyatt were outside on Sunday, April 5, when Wyatt fell into an icy creek. Ashkan got his brother to shallow water but was not able to pull himself out.

Ashkan was flown to a Twin Cities hospital, where he remains in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

"They want everybody to know that they need prayer," a Greenway Mini Mites mom said Friday. "He's got a long road [ahead]."

The Mini Mites moms are working with Shep's Apparel to raise money for the family.

"Stick Together for Ash" shirts are available for $25 until noon April 17. For every sale, $15 will go to Ashkan's family to help with medical costs and supplies. Shep's is just charging for materials, and the moms are going to gather for a t-shirt making day.

In less than a day, there have already been 65 orders placed, many for more than one shirt.

"Our hockey community is a special one," the fundraiser page states. "When something happens to one of our own, we come together."
