MINNEAPOLIS — Three Northern Minnesota schools will compete at the Minnesota State High School League’s dance tournament Feb. 13-14 at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Brainerd (Section 4AAA) and Crosby-Ironton (Section 4A) took first in both the jazz and high kick categories at their section tournaments, advancing both routines.
Bagley (Section 4A) finished third in high kick, also earning a spot at state.
The top three teams in each category advance from each of the four sections.
This is the Rangerettes Dance Team’s fifth year in a row winning Section 4A in kick and fourth year in a row as jazz champions. Brainerd also advanced in both categories last year.
The jazz competition will take place Friday, Feb. 13, with high kick to follow on Saturday. Qualifying performances begin at 11:30 a.m. each day, with Class A finalists announced around 1:15 p.m. and 3A finalists around 4:30 p.m.
Class A finals and awards are scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with the other two classes to follow at 7:15 p.m.
