Daniel Latterell, 64, of Cloquet, was last seen on May 25, 2025. His body was found in Aitkin County on July 7, 2025.

Daniel Latterell's body was found in the same area as his partner's body was found a week earlier north of Aitkin.

AITKIN — The body believed to be of a missing Cloquet man was found Monday, July 7, north of Aitkin.

The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office reports search and rescue personnel found the body of Daniel Joseph Latterall, 64, after an extensive foot and air search. He was first reported missing along with his significant other Jane Korpela in late May.

Korpela’s body was found last week near Latterell’s SUV.

The sheriff's office's drone found an item of interest Sunday evening about 1,100 feet from the SUV in wet, dense brush.

Cloquet Police and the sheriff's office checked the location Monday, where they found the body thought to be Latterell.

The body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death and to confirm identification.

The sheriff’s office and Cloquet Police are investigating. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
