AITKIN — A missing Cloquet woman was found dead Sunday, June 29, near Aitkin.
Cloquet Police began searching for Jane Korpela, 62, and her partner Daniel Latterell, 64, in late May. Both are vulnerable adults, and there was concern for their mental health and safety.
The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office found an SUV belonging to Latterell on Sunday in a remote area two miles north of Aitkin.
Investigators found a body nearby, believed to be Korpela.
Cloquet Police found items of clothing belonging to Latterell near the scene during a search Monday. Search efforts are ongoing.

Latterell is 5 feet, 9 inches, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
