BRAINERD — Crow Wing County is asking for public comments on its 2025-40 Long-Range Transportation Plan until July 9.
Residents, businesses and visitors can submit feedback on the plan by filling out a survey as well as leaving comments on specific areas of an interactive map of the county. More information as well as a PDF of the full plan can be found on the website for the county's highway department.
The plan will help the county identify and prioritize long-term highway improvements with a focus on safety for vehicles and pedestrians as well as road maintenance. The plan will also focus on preparing for future growth and change.
The county will use the plan as a roadmap for guiding investments in transportation over the next 20 years or longer. Aside from maintenance and upgrades for roads, bridges and trails, the plan's goals include protecting natural resources, enhancing connectivity between communities and meeting accessibility and mobility needs.
