LAKE GEORGE — State transportation crews will begin clearing trees around Highway 200 near the Itasca State Park on Jan. 22.
Residents and property owners along the highway from Clearwater County Road 2 to Highway 71 are reminded to remove right-of-way encroachments, like fences, signs and planters, to avoid risk of damage or removal by the contractor.
The vegetation removal is in advance of this year’s road project, set to begin in July, and will include pavement resurfacing as well as four culvert replacements.
Drivers can expect potential lane and shoulder closures and slow-moving equipment during this part of the project, which is expected to last four days.
