CLOQUET — Cloquet-based food distributor Upper Lakes Foods is one of six businesses awarded expansion funding by the state.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development will award the business $220,000 from the Job Creation Fund.
The proposed project would expand the Cloquet facility by adding 7,000 square feet of freezer space in a building expansion. The total cost is $2.7 million and the project is expected to create 11 jobs in the first three years, with an average wage just over $24 an hour.
The Job Creation Fund provides financial incentives to new and expanding businesses that meet certain job creation and capital investment targets.
