State Rep. Roger Skraba will serve a third time in the Minnesota House after defeating DFLer Aaron Kania.

State Rep. Roger Skraba of Ely will return to the Minnesota House for a third term.

The incumbent Republican defeated DFLer Aaron Kania of Vermilion Lake Township in the race of House District 3A.

Skraba is a wilderness fishing guide who previously served as mayor and City Council member in Ely. He was first elected to the Minnesota House in 2022 by a 15-vote margin of victory, which he widened in 2024.

State House District 3A represents the largest section of the Minnesota Arrowhead, including all of Cook and Koochiching counties and part of Itasca, Lake, and St. Louis counties. Ely, Grand Marais and International Falls are some of the district's cities.

Skraba will begin his next two-year term in January.
