Republican Mark Striemer beat DFL candidate Melissa Maertens in the House District 10A race.

Republican Mark Striemer won the race for state House District 10A over DFL candidate Melissa Maertens.

State House District 10A includes portions of Aitkin, Crow Wing, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Morrison counties, including Aitkin, McGrath and Fort Ripley.

Incumbent Rep. Ron Kresha did not run for reelection. Kresha backed the un-endorsed Brian Lindquist, who lost the primary to Striemer in the contentious Republican primary.

Striemer will begin his two-year term in January.
