The winners will begin their four-year terms in January.

DETROIT LAKES — Luke Sweere will be the next sheriff of Becker County after a resounding victory against Shane Richard.

Both men work for the Becker County Sheriff's Office and began their campaigns after Sheriff Todd Glander announced his retirement in early 2026.

In another race with no incumbent, Amy Rosing defeated Kim Frederick for the Becker County auditor-treasurer role.

The county auditor-treasurer has a variety of responsibilities, including tax administration, election administration and accounting.

The current auditor-treasurer, Mary E. Hendrickson, is retiring.

In Becker County District 1, Erica Jepson won her reelection bid. The district includes the eastern half of the county, including the community of Wolf Lake.

She defeated challenger Daniel Bergstrom by almost 400 votes.
