Peter Hyduke secured a second term as mayor of Hibbing, while incumbent council member Justin Fosso lost his bid for reelection.
Incumbent Hyduke is a former city of Hibbing employee. He defeated challenger Marisa Allen, who is CEO of a local nonprofit.
Fosso lost to challenger Mark Borland for the at-large seat, which represents the entire city.
The Ward 2 seat also featured a contested race between Logan Drews and Brandy Maki, neither of whom are incumbents. Maki defeated Drews to represent the northwestern portion of the city.
The winners will begin their terms in January. Hyduke's term will last two years, while Borland and Maki will serve on the City Council for four years.
