Travis Vake and Joy Frazier are advancing to the Nov. 3, 2026, general election, based on unofficial results from Minnesota's primary election.

CHISHOLM — Following a neck-and-neck primary on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Travis Vake and Joy Frazier are moving forward in the Chisholm mayoral race.

Vake secured the most votes with 297.

One voter at the polls who wished to remain anonymous said Vake earned their vote because he would "do the most to benefit Chisholm."

However, Frazier only trailed Vake by seven votes, finishing with 290.

Frazier is not originally from Chisholm. For Gloria Succio, a local voter, this was an asset.

At the polls, Succio said the right candidate would be receptive to all ideas throughout the community. Frazier, she said, would listen to all ideas because she doesn't have preconceived ideas about the city or its residents.

“She has an open mind about anything,” Succio said.

Candidates Marty Halverson, who finished with 218 votes, and Brandan L. Fiedler, with 81, did not advance.
