The Watermark Art Center: It's Only Clay, an Arts Marketplace, and Giving Back

I think that this time of the year and especially this year … we want to connect. And I think connecting through art and giving that gift that's so personal….  It has a little bit more of a human connection.

One of my potters said, “you know, I'm making that work and I'm thinking about who's going to own it.” ... And so there's that personal connection to another person through that work. And I think that's really evident when you're buying a piece of original art. - Lori Forshee-Donnay,  Watermark Art Center

Artists are well-known for coming up with great solutions to challenging problems.  That’s what creative minds do.  The Watermark Art Center in Bemidji has repositioned itself this holiday season in order to best serve the public with quality arts access, support regional artists in their quest to sell work, and give back to the community.  Executive Director Lori Forshee-Donnay spoke on the morning show about how the annual It’s Only Clay exhibit looks different this year, how there is more art than ever available for purchase at the Watermark, how shopping adjustments and alternatives are helping patrons, and how the Watermark  is raising money for the Bemidji Community Food Shelf via art.  It’s all in this segment of Area Voices!

That Watermark is open Thursdays thru Saturdays from 10am - 6pm.  Personal shoppers are available! Call 218-444-7570 or find more information on their website
