Arrowhead Regional Arts Council will host a Workshop Wednesday event via Zoom on Wednesday, May 10, covering legal questions related to artists and art organizations.
Attorney Jessica Karp will present about the many legal considerations one might have while running an art business. Karp is knowledgeable both in the law and the art world, organizers stated. She is an attorney in Maslon’s Corporate & Securities Group assisting clients in general corporate law, nonprofit formation, contracts and mergers and acquisitions. She graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Law.
Before attending law school, Karp earned her master’s degree from Georgetown University in art and museum studies, studying for a semester at Sotheby's Institute of Arts in London. She gained experience as a museum collections and exhibitions manager and as a grant writer — work that gave her insight into the management of nonprofits.
The Zoom conversation is free and set to begin 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Join at us02web.zoom.us/j/87606695362?pwd=V2l0dUQ4Slp2RGkrZC8wUkFaaG5kZz09.
