Mystery Series

What are you reading this summer?  I just finished Dead Man's Mistress by David Housewright and thoroughly enjoyed the mystery set in Minnesota - in Mpls, Grand Marais - having to do with an art theft.  It was about so much more of course, including World's Best Donuts and the fascinating idea of free ports.

Today at noon at the Brainerd Public Library MN author and forensic psychologist Frank Weber will talk about his latest book, The I-94 Murders.

A tryst of bondage. A lover's murder.

Barbara Schlichting's First Lady Mystery series connects historical events with the modern world.  So far, she's written former first ladies Mary Lincoln, Dolley Madison and Edith Roosevelt into homicides related to a seemingly innocent dollhouse store in downtown Minneapolis. A prolific writer, Schlichting also wrote the mystery Body on the Tracks, several children's books, poetry, and she's developed a Martha Washington picture book focusing on her early days as first lady.
