The Kalevala Puppet Pageant is 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at the New York Mills VFW, and noon Saturday, Aug. 19, at Finn Creek Museum. The pageant is based on tales from the Finnish book of legends and features larger-than-life puppets and songs.

Lyric Center Youth Theatre Education will present the production, a 60-minute musical designed for middle school-aged performers based on the 2016 Disney film Moana. The play will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
