  • Minnesota law prohibits interfering with a firefighter in their official duties, including unauthorized drones that restrict aircraft. Wildfire activity has steadily climbed since mid-February as dry conditions persist.
  • Among outstanding violations was the lack of inspection reports for the lodge’s sprinkler and fire alarm systems, but the fire marshal says its too early to determine if these played a role.
  • News broke of a fire at Lutsen Lodge on Lake Superior the morning of Feb. 6. The resort lodge is a total loss.
