Minnesota law prohibits interfering with a firefighter in their official duties, including unauthorized drones that restrict aircraft. Wildfire activity has steadily climbed since mid-February as dry conditions persist.

Among outstanding violations was the lack of inspection reports for the lodge’s sprinkler and fire alarm systems, but the fire marshal says its too early to determine if these played a role.

News broke of a fire at Lutsen Lodge on Lake Superior the morning of Feb. 6. The resort lodge is a total loss.
