Lakes Area Music Festival

The 16th annual Lakes Area Music Festival is July 26- Aug. 18 at various locations throughout the Brainerd area. This year’s theme is in honor of the 2024 Summer Olympics, “Heroic Journeys.”

Thalea String Quartet performances kick off 2 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa and again at 7:30 p.m. at the Watermark Art Center in Bemidji. The program includes Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Lark” quartet, alongside tango music and eclectic contemporary works by Caroline Shaw and Erwin Schulhoff.
