The presentation in Grand Rapids will give the community a chance to learn about the nonprofit's crisis intervention services. Pre-registration is required.

The projects are among 15 in Northern Minnesota included in Senate appropriations legislation that now goes to the House of Representatives for a vote.

KOOTASCA Community Action said proposed cuts at the federal level would hurt its ability to support local families with housing and energy assistance, among other needs.

A lack of clarity over the extent of the pause prompted chaos in state and local government, health care providers, social services agencies and other nonprofit organizations.
