The bill to transfer thousands of acres of state-managed forest land to the White Earth Nation isn’t dead, but the first committee deadline is 5 p.m. on March 22.

The White Earth Reservation Business Council stated in a news release that the forest would remain open to all Minnesotans if the bill passes this session, but local government officials are raising concerns.
