On the latest installment of What We're Reading, Grand Rapids Area Library children's librarian Tracy Kampa reviewed new picture and middle-grade books.
Kampa reported dog books are big in libraries and a recent weeding of the Grand Rapids Area Library children's collection revealed high check-out numbers for dog books. She recommended the new nonfiction picture book Dogs: a History of Our Best Friends, written and beautifully illustrated by Lita Judge.
Kampa also recommended the following books:
- Take a Chance, written and illustrated by Sujean Rim,
- When Clouds Touch Us, by Thanhhà Lai, and
- Elf Dog and Owl Head, written by M.T. Anderson and illustrated by Junyi Wu.
