Sister Sadie is a bluegrass quintet made up of seasoned veterans and young up-and-comers. The group was formed in 2012 in Nashville by original members Gena Britt on banjo and Deanie Richardson on fiddle.
In 2020, Sister Sadie was heralded with the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award, becoming the first all-female group to do so. They were also awarded the Vocal Group of the Year and Richardson became only the second woman in over 30 years to win Fiddler of the Year.
On their new album No Fear, Sister Sadie move through rollicking and ripping bluegrass to traditional country and folk.
The group's three newest members are lead vocalist/guitarist Jaelee Roberts, guitarist/songwriter Dani Flowers and bassist Maddie Dalton, who was still in college while recording No Fear.
The three brought new energy to the group, and it shows on standout tracks like "Willow," "Diane" and the rug-cutting instrumental "Pad Thai Karaoke."
