- Festivus celebration - 7 p.m. at CHAIR in Virginia
Saturday, Dec. 27
- Snow Secrets: Animal Signs - 2 p.m. at Lake Bemidji State Park (meet at the playground)
Tuesday, Dec. 30
- Eveleth Elks Club's annual skating party - 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hippodrome in Eveleth. Free.
Wednesday, Dec. 31
- Wonder Trek Children's Museum presents Noon Year's Eve - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Just for Kix in Brainerd
Thursday, Jan. 1
- First Day Hike: Snowshoe to the Bog - 10 a.m. at Lake Bemidji State Park (meet at the Bog Walk trailhead)
Friday, Jan. 2
- First Friday Art Walk - 4 to 7 p.m. in various spots in downtown Grand Rapids
Saturday, Jan. 3
- Jake Haapajoki Memorial Cup (3-on-3 hockey tournament) - all day at various rinks in Baxter
- Winter Lecture Series - 1 p.m. at the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids. The topic is "The History of Minnesota's Forests" with retired forest manager Brad Jones.
Sunday, Jan. 4
- Winter Legends & Lore Storytelling Series - 5 p.m. at Long Lake Conservation Center near Palisade, featuring YA author Beth Hautala
