Last week, we shifted into soup mode and finding comfort in our favorite foods that signal fall.

With cooler weather comes a hankering for the comfort foods of fall. We talked all week, Oct. 13-17, about our favorite fall comfort foods.

Here's what we heard

Liz from Tamarack said, "I start to crave venison pie when the weather gets cold. Venison, carrots, red wine and lots of garlic baked in a homemade pie crust."

KAXE volunteer Justine Jacobson told us she likes meatloaf with mashed potatoes. "And beef stew. And chicken with noodles. And tater tot hotdish," she added.

Amanda in Grand Rapids said, "Any hot soup with a giant piece of homemade bread dripping with butter."

Bill from Big Lake texted, "[I like] dipping graham crackers in hot chocolate, Bailey's, peppermint schnapps, and amaretto. Topped with marshmallows."

A few people mentioned homemade apple crisp, and Dan on Facebook commented, "I do not discriminate seasons. My favorite comfort food is what someone else puts in front of me."

Read our Question of the Week post on our Facebook page for more suggestions.
