Events Up North Oct. 21-25: 'Dracula' in Brainerd, Screamatorium in Virginia

Events this week include trunk or treats in Hibbing, Turtle River and Grand Rapids; Hwy. 197 open house in Bemidji and a health fair in Park Rapids.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Wednesday, Oct. 22

  • Renew Highway 2 Tour - 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Beaux Arts Ballroom on the campus of Bemidji State University. Workshops, conversations and presentations about renewable energy as an economic development tool in Northwest Minnesota. Registration required.
  • Open Door Coat Rack distribution - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids
  • Discovering Our Downtown Identity - 5 to 7 p.m. at Rapids Brewing Company. RSVP by calling the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation at 218-999-9100.
  • Screamatorium Haunted House - 6 to 10 p.m. at CHAIR in Virginia

  • Highway 197 project open houses - 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. OR 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Department of Transportation Bemidji headquarters
  • Screamatorium Haunted House - 6 to 10 p.m. at CHAIR in Virginia
  • Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors - 7 p.m. at the Chalberg Theater on the Central Lakes College campus in Brainerd

  • Hibbing Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat - noon to 2 p.m. at Hibbing City Hall
  • Trunk or Treat, plus horse-drawn wagon rides - 2 to 5 p.m. at New Salem Lutheran Church in Turtle River
  • Trunk or Treat - 3 to 6 p.m. at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. Hosted by Grand Rapids FFA, Itasca County 4-H and the Itasca County Agricultural Association.
  • Meatball & Lefse Dinner - 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids
  • Howl-O-Ween - 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Great River Rescue in Bemidji
  • History Mystery: The Fate of Emma Davids - 5:30 p.m. at Beltrami County History Center in Bemidji
  • Screamatorium Haunted House - 6 to 10 p.m. at CHAIR in Virginia
  • Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors - 7 p.m. at the Chalberg Theater on the Central Lakes College campus in Brainerd
