BIGFORK — Choosing the right play for a community isn’t always easy.
But when Stephanie Kessler discovered that Anne of Green Gables, one of her and her daughter's favorite books, had been adapted for the stage, she knew she wanted to bring the beloved story and its characters to Bigfork.
As the director of the play, Kessler has been working with a cast of 13 people for the past few months. Performances of Anne of Green Gables at the Edge Center for the Arts in Bigfork are Thursday, April 3, through Sunday, April 6.

Kessler was a recent guest on the KAXE Morning Show. She said, "All my actors have just been so fun. And I just can't wait for people to see it. They're just doing such a great job."
Kessler also talked about how the staging and look of the play are coming together, explaining bedsheets were the basis of the costumes for the story written in 1908.
Anne of Green Gables showtimes are 7 p.m. April 3-5 and 2 p.m. April 6. Tickets available online or at the door.
