It is officially spring! There is so much to look for in nature this time of year, with more yet to come.
This week, we've been wondering about your favorite signs of spring.
Here's what we heard
Monica in Turtle River texted, "At the mouth of the Turtle River as it enters frozen Turtle River Lake, I love watching all the water fowl gathering in the slow currents entering the frozen lake. Riding my fat bike on the frozen spring lakes and noticing all the springs along the shoreline. The smells of alder and trees waking up in the sun."

Bill from Wabana Township near Grand Rapids said, "Coyotes yipping and howling in my yard and on the lake! It's been happening every night for the past 10 days or so between midnight and 2 a.m.!"
Nancy wrote on Facebook, "Waking up to songbirds, not having to navigate ice covered ground, warmth, rainbows, new growth, grilling, butterflies, everything!"
Dana from Grand Rapids invented her own holiday called "Green Haze Day." She said, "It’s usually a day after a good rain when there is a green haze in the trees from all the new buds."
KAXE Phenology Coordinator Charlie Mitchell said, "My favorite is seeing the first spring ephemerals pop up through the dead leaves of last season. The juxtaposition always makes me feel hopeful."
Loons returning and the sounds of spring peepers were mentioned often.
Another great thing about spring? "Chocolate peanut butter eggs!" Brian said.
