Here's a collection of KAXE Producer Andrew Dziengel's soundtracks on vinyl.

This week, we've been asking about your favorite soundtracks to movies or TV shows.

Sometimes, a piece of music in a movie or TV show hits just right. A soundtrack can really set the tone for what you see on screen.

We had well over 100 responses to this week's question on Facebook, plus many texts and emails.

These three movies were popular responses to our Question of the Week.

Here's a sample of what we heard

Popular choices for favorite movie soundtracks include Pulp Fiction, The Big Chill, The Big Lebowski and Empire Records.

Baz Luhrmann's version of Romeo + Juliet, starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio also had quite a few mentions.

Lenore from Bemidji told us, "I loved the movie Jaws and the theme music is one that you'll never forget! It's identifiable within the first couple notes! As a former music teacher, I taught a unit called movies and music. I had a number of short video scenes (for example a chase scene) that I would show my students. I would show the same scene 5 times with different music backgrounds. (We had) great discussions on how powerful music is for a movie scene and how dramatically it can change the mood of a scene just based on what musical genre is selected!"

Graham from Minneapolis texted, "I would have to say anything by Bernard Herman. He did so much, whether it be Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock, Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro, and maybe one of my favorites: Journey to the Center of the Earth with James Mason and Pat Boone. Ultimate 20th century cinema mood setter."

Good Morning, Vietnam is another movie that was brought up a few times. Mike from Brainerd specified the scene with "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

KAXE Senior Correspondent Scott Hall told us his favorite soundtrack is from the movie Nashville. "My second choice is The Last Picture Show, with "Why Don't You Love Me" by Hank Williams playing under the credits at the end," he said.

Read our Question of the Week post on our Facebook page for more suggestions. You can also listen to a spirited conversation about soundtracks with staff members Larissa Donovan, Andrew Dziengel, Heidi Holtan and Jen Kellen by clicking the link above! They talk about the soundtracks for Purple Rain, Amadeus, Lord of the Rings and more.
