This week, we've been warming up to the idea of soup. We also had a lively discussion on the KAXE Morning Show, wondering if chili is considered soup? And just what is the difference between soup and stew? You can hear that conversation by clicking the link above.
Here's what we heard
Kim texted, "I've always loved soup, but this year it's been especially something I've craved. My new favorite recipe is Mexican beef stew because of the cumin in the recipe. I've made it both 'soupy' & 'stewy.'"
Steve in St. Paul said, "French onion soup. I add a couple of glugs of tequila/mezcal as I caramelize the onions to burn off the booze, but leave a trace to the taste. Soooo good."
KAXE volunteer and "Green Cheese Trivia" host Justine Jacobson wrote, "My favorite soups have always been the ones I throw together from leftovers and stuff I have lying around, and then I can never replicate it again."
Karen from Grand Rapids said, "Campbell's Scotch Broth, but you can't buy it in the U.S. anymore, just in Canada. Growing up, this was my dad's favorite Christmas Eve meal! It brings back happy childhood memories!"
Lisa told us, "Your talk of soup this morning has inspired me to make a pot! I have a ham bone in the freezer and have all the ingredients for split pea soup, mmm."
