- Feed Your Mind brown bag lunch learning series - noon, Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. Learn how to make sourdough bread. $5/Arboretum member, $10/non-member. Register.
- Auditions for Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr. - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Bemidji Community Theater Performing Arts Center. All actors must be between the ages of 8 and 18.
- S.A.V.E suicide prevention training - 5 p.m., Hibbing Memorial Building. Sponsored by the Hibbing chapter of Disabled American Veterans.
Thursday, Jan. 9
- Auditions for Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr. - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Bemidji Community Theater Performing Arts Center. All actors must be between the ages of 8 and 18.
- Classic Movie Series - 6:30 p.m., Edge Center for the Arts in Bigfork. This month's film is No Way Out, starring Sydney Poitier and Richard Wydmark.
Friday, Jan. 10
- Opening reception for "The Rhythm of the Hill Annex Mine" with artist Aaron Squadroni - 5 to 7 p.m., Watermark Art Center in Bemidji
- Burger Night - 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Curl Mesabi in Eveleth
- Learn to Curl - 6 p.m. at Itasca Curling Club in Grand Rapids
Saturday, Jan. 11
- Minnesota Historical Society Free Admission Day - Free sites include the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids and Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors.
- Lantern light walk - 5 to 7:30 p.m., Itasca State Park
- Bemidji Contra Dance - 6:30 p.m., Rail River Folk School in Bemidji. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Dance to live music from the O'Neil Family Band. No partners necessary.
- InsomniActs 6 - 7 p.m., Reif Center in Grand Rapids
