It's time to kick off the holidays in Northern Minnesota this week! Here are some events to check out:
Monday, Nov. 25
- Friends of the Grand Rapids Area Library Holiday Book Boutique - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the library. Shop a selection of used and nearly new books, with a focus on Christmas books and gift-giving.
- Opening reception of 2-D Student Art Exhibition - 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Central Lakes College Art Gallery in Brainerd
- Spirit of Unity Parade - 6 p.m. in downtown Hibbing. Chamber Market from 4:30-7 p.m. in the former Teske building on Howard Street.

Thursday, Nov. 28 (Happy Thanksgiving!)
- Free Thanksgiving dinner - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Rapids
- Sertoma Winter Wonderland opening night - 5:30-8 p.m. at Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. Open every Thursday through Saturday, plus the full week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. $15 in advance or $20 at the gate per vehicle.
Friday, Nov. 29
- Northern Spirit Shop open house - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids
- Famous Fish House Parade - 1 p.m. in downtown Aitkin.
- Light in the Pines - 5-9 p.m. at the Itasca County Fairgrounds in Grand Rapids. Every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 23. $10 per passenger car or truck, $25 per small transportation bus or van.
- Historic Caboose Tours and Cocoa - 4-8 p.m. at the Beltrami County History Center in Bemidji
- Night We Light Parade - 6 p.m. in downtown Bemidji. Following the parade, head to the waterfront as the switch is flipped to illuminate over half a million lights in the park.
Saturday, Nov. 30
- Northern Spirit Shop open house - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids
