GRAND RAPIDS — Paws in the Park is a fundraising event for Great Tails Animal Rescue on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., and a walk begins at 10 a.m. There will also be a silent auction, door prizes, vendors, a plant sale, games, food and an opportunity to meet K-9 police units.
The stated mission of the organization is to provide temporary shelter and veterinary care for stray, abandoned and surrendered animals of Itasca County, and surrounding areas, with the purpose of finding loving, permanent homes.
The organization was formed six years ago, and has been working for the past three years to raise money for a permanent shelter on land that was gifted to them from the city of Cohasset. Right now, all animals at Great Tails are in foster homes.
The event is in a county building, located across from the north side of Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids. Find more info at the organization's website.
