Summer is in full swing in Northern Minnesota. Here are some ideas for what to do:
Bemidji
Bemidji Community Children's Theater and Starbridge Academy presents "15 Reasons Not To Be In A Play" at the Lake Bemidji State Park Amphitheater. This production is about a group of students protesting being in a play and with reasons from having to hold someone's hand to being stuck in a tree costume. Performances are Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m.
Brainerd
Central Lakes College Performing Arts Center presents the musical “The Prom,” Tuesday through Thursday at the Chalberg Theater in Brainerd. Find tickets and schedule here. “The Prom” is about four eccentric Broadway stars in desperate need of a new stage. So, when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue… and themselves!
Grand Rapids
Great Tails Animal Rescue hosts an indoor rummage sale Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Klockow Brewing. All proceeds benefit animals in need.
Hackensack
Northwoods Arts Council presents the Lakeside Concert Series on Friday evenings in August, 5-7 p.m. at Birch Lake Park pavilion in Hackensack. Bring your own chairs. In case of rain, the concerts will be at the Hackensack Community Center. This Friday, Aug. 2, they welcome Adessa and the Beat.
Hibbing
The grand finale for "Hibbing on Howard" is Monday, July 29, 5-7 p.m. on Howard Street. The event features food trucks, games and activities for all ages. There is an extra "teen hour" starting at 7 p.m.
