GRAND RAPIDS — Music lovers in Grand Rapids can look forward to 12 concerts ranging from folk to classical with this year's Tuesday Summer Concert Series.
Cathy Shields and Darcy Reich have organized the musicians and rotating church venues for over two decades. They stopped by the KAXE Morning Show to discuss the artists participating in this year’s series.
Concert schedule
All concerts begin at noon. Lunch is available at most locations after each concert for $7.00. All churches are in Grand Rapids, except where noted.

- June 4: Adessa & the Beat at Bethany Lutheran Church in Deer River
- June 11: Take Me Home Country Roads (A compilation of folk songs from the 1960s and 70s with father-daughter duo Niels Henriksen and Katie Benes) at Grand Rapids Alliance Church
- June 18: Strings and Pipes (Jazz and more on organ, piano, and guitar with Graeme and Jonathon Shields) at Zion Lutheran Church
- June 25: Somewhere Out There (Jazz and instrumental solos and duets with Adam and Rachel Giebner) at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church
- July 2: Cello Rhapsody (with Magdalena Sas and Mary Ellen Haupert) at Community Presbyterian Church
- July 9: Together We Sing (A variety of music from Itasca Community Chorus' Women's Ensemble) at United Methodist Church
- July 16: Northern Pine Trio (multi-genre vocal trio with Marina Whight, Emily Slaubaugh, and Amy Leigh Koivisto) at Grace Bible Church
- July 23: Country Roads (Country, folk, and gospel with Leann Brennan, Keith Soring, Theron Perry, and Stacy Steele) at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset
- July 30: Eclectic Mix (instrumental and vocal with Sarah Mason and family) at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church
- August 6: Rapids Brass (Renaissance, classical, movie songs, and jazz conducted by Heidi Wick) at Zion Lutheran Church
- August 13: Grand Rapids Community Big Band at Evangelical Free Church
- August 20: Before We Return (Ben Bartholomew and Megan Gunnerson perform their saxophone and vocal solos before returning to college) at First Lutheran Church
