Threat of frost, unseasonable cold continues for Northern MN
A frost advisory is in effect overnight Friday, with the threat of frost also expected overnight Saturday and Sunday. Temps are expected to return to normal by Monday, Sept. 8, 2025.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office to host boat and water safety classes
The course, which includes classroom components, teaches boating and water safety and includes a test. Passing the test will allow youths to receive their Watercraft Operators Permit, which is required for those between the ages of 12 and 17 years old.

Canadian wildfire smoke moving back into Minnesota this week
A cold front will reach northwest Minnesota by Monday afternoon, July 28, 2025. As the front passes through, northwest winds will pull more wildfire smoke into the state.
Free scam protection event planned in Breezy Point
Scam Jam will include speakers on topics such as the tactics criminals use to commit fraud. It will also have a mini-expo for resources as well as a talk about Medicare fraud.
State health officials link E. coli cases to recalled organic carrots

Authorities find body of 39-year-old man missing from Mountain Iron
Benjamin James Sherwood, 39, was last seen leaving his home on the 8800 block of Main Street on Tuesday morning, March 11, according to a news release.
