Inflation eased in March but prices are still climbing too fast to get comfortable
Consumer prices in March were up 5% from a year ago. While inflation has eased from a four-decade high last summer, prices are still rising faster than the Federal Reserve would like.

Did Tsunami Warning Reach Samoa On Time?
An earthquake early Tuesday in the south Pacific sent tsunami waves crashing into Samoa and American Samoa. Charles McCreery, director of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, says he isn't sure if the warning reached people in time. But, he says, there would have been natural warning signs of a tsunami.

Tennessee Town Backs GI in Iraqi Murder Case
When Staff Sgt. Raymond Girouard faces court martial next week for charges of murdering three Iraqi detainees, he'll have the support of Sweetwater, Tenn. Girouard says he was following orders, and folks in his hometown believe him. They've raised more than $20,000 to hire a civilian attorney for him.
