KAXE's Tuesday Morning Show strives to take an in-depth look at some natural resource-based issues important to Northern Minnesota. Producer Mark Jacobs and hosts Heidi Holtan and John Latimer discuss the problems and highlight some creative solutions.

In July of 2021,  Amanda Mahaffee from the Forest Stewards Guild joined the Morning Show to inform us of the "Forestry for Birds" project being initiated across the US.

Now, 4 years later, Mike Lynch, (Forest Stewards Guild: Lake States Region Director) joined us to talk about the recently completed project. The several year process, involving a diverse group of resource managers and biologists, culminated in a recently published booklet on how to "tweak" traditional forestry practices to enhance habitat for forest dwelling birds.

Listen to the full conversation above, and download the Forestry for Minnesota Birds booklet here.
