Do you find yourself wondering if this spring is really late, or if you just have cabin fever? Do you find yourself curious about which trees leaf out first in the spring, and when to start looking for Pine Grosbeaks in the fall?
Join phenologist John Latimer and nature enthusiast Sarah Mitchell at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd/Baxter from 5-7 p.m on Wednesday, April 19. Another hike will be at 1 p.m. Sunday May 28, at Hartley Nature Center in Duluth to learn how to study and record seasonal changes in nature.
For nearly four decades, John Latimer has hosted the Phenology Show on KAXE, inspiring thousands to observe and share nature in their backyards and woodlots. His only downfall? Technology. That’s where Sarah comes in!
Sarah is a Minnesota master naturalist, evolutionary biologist and overall nature enthusiast. Together, Sarah and John will walk you through what to look for and how to use the Nature’s Notebook app to record, store and study observations. Dress according to the weather.
