This Year's Drought Effect on Fall Colors with UMD Professor Jessica Savage

We've had a lack of rain and drought conditions this year that have lead to wildfires in northeastern MN and difficult conditions for area farmers. But what about the trees? Many of us look forward to the change of seasons, and specifically the colors on our magnificent trees.

Jessica Savage is an Assistant Professor in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth and she helped us understand the science behind the changes before our eyes.

Heidi Holtan has worked at KAXE/KBXE for over 20 years. She currently helms the Morning Show as News and Public Affairs Director. Heidi is a regional correspondent for WDSE/WRPT's Duluth Public Television’s Almanac North. In 2018 Heidi received the “Building Bridges in Media” award from the Islamic Resource Group for her work on KAXE/KBXE hosting conversations about anti-Muslim movements in rural Minnesota.
