The Minnesota Department of Revenue is hosting a series of public listening sessions with the stated goal of finding meaningful ways to support property taxpayers.
The sessions will take place from August to October.
Staff from the Department of Revenue said the sessions will examine the state's property tax system and explore recommendations to make the system more understandable, accessible, and accountable to property taxpayers.
“These listening sessions are a way for property taxpayers to have a seat at the table in looking at ways to make our property tax system simpler, more efficient, and less costly," Revenue Commissioner Paul Marquart stated.
An upcoming meeting is planned for 1-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13. The event is available both virtually and in-person.
