Now, here are four concerts this Thursday, Friday and Saturday!
First up, Mighty Trains Band are playing in Crosby this Thursday at 6 p.m. for the town’s summer concert series at Crosby Memorial Park. It's a rock 'n' roll band from the Brainerd Lakes area that mixes heartland rock, Americana and roots. The band released its latest EP, Hello Sunshine, earlier this year.
On Friday, Christopher David Hanson is playing Smoke on the Water in Coleraine at 5 p.m. The singer-songwriter is active in multiple bands around the Iron Range and Arrowhead region (Bewilderness just put out their debut), and he plays a rootsy mix of folk, blues and rock in his solo shows.
j. bell & the Lazy Susan Band are also playing Friday at The Terrace, an outdoor venue in downtown Aitkin. The group is another roots-and-rock-fusing band, with twangy guitars and Hammond B3 organ helping to anchor lead singer j. bell’s heartfelt songwriting. The group has released six albums since 2003, with the last arriving in 2021.
Finally, Sonny Johnson is playing in Walker on Saturday at 11 a.m. for a brunch set at the Green Scene Market & Eatery. He is a bluesy indie-rock singer-songwriter from Red Lake who is back performing live after some time away from the stage.
