It's a great weekend for Minnesota music here in the Northland with 12 local artists playing the KAXE-sponsored Festival Rialto in Grand Rapids.
Besides the festival, we're spotlighting Glitteratti's EP release show in Grand Rapids and Foxby playing on a patio in Bemidji.
We'll start with Duluth indie-dance band Glitteratti at Rapids Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids, Friday at 7 p.m. With prolific singer-songwriter Marc Gartman at the helm, the all-star band is rounded out by Dave Carroll and Tim Saxhaug of Trampled By Turtles on guitar and bass. The final piece is drummer Kyle Keegan, who has worked with artists like Ben Howard, Gene Ween, Mandolin Orange and many more. The group is celebrating the release of their new EP Legends.
Sticking with the brewery, Festival Rialto is all day Saturday. Across two stages, 12 Minnesota artists are on the lineup, plus the fan-favorite set from the Grand Rapids High School Jazz Band. Acts play one after another, alternating stages for a non-stop day of music.
Along with sponsors True North Salon & Spa, Oak Hill Assisted Living and Re-Thrift, KAXE is proud to present the side stage, with many rising stars of the Minnesota music scene: Tattletale, Forge North, Sugar on the Roof, Penny Peaches and Laura Hugo.
The main stage will see hosts and headliners Wild Horses at its only Minnesota date on the schedule for 2026, along with Good Morning Bedlam, the Mike Munson Trio, Thomas Sticha, Kelley Smith and Paul Lawrence.
Another option on Saturday is alt and indie band Foxby 6 p.m. at Bemidji Brewing. The band, led by Mosi Palosari, has recently been in the studio with fellow Bemidji singers Serotiny, and it teased a big announcement to be shared at the Bemidji show. Part of the brewery's Sunset Sounds series, the show will be outdoors on the patio.
