Most memorable concert or festival?

The Eagles, Steve Miller and Pablo Cruise at the Met Stadium in Bloomington in 1978. Close second is The Big Turn Music Fest in Red Wing. Small venues. 100+ Minnesota bands. Up close and personal experience for 2 days. Great thing to do on a February weekend.

The smell that of the electronics give off. Kind of a sweet, clean, electric smell. It's really noticeable on the weekends.

Taking care of the critters at my Happy Hillbilly Haven!

PRINCE!!

KAXE is turning 50 in 2026! Why should KAXE exist for another 50 years?

So the next generation can continue to share creative, REAL music, preformed by creative, REAL people. Variety is the spice of life!

Diane's 50 Songs

In honor of KAXE turning 50, we asked our volunteers to send us a playlist of 50 songs that help tell their musical story.

Here is a link to hear Diane's playlist on your preferred streaming platform (Spotify link below).

Dan was born on the south side of Chicago and remembers dancing to Booker T and the MG's as his 1st musical memory. What followed has been a lifelong adventure of hearing new music and being exposed to the people and communities that produced the artists. Forwards in all directions!
