KAXE's weekly list of concerts near you features Brock Beaulieu, Klocktoberfest, Rich Mattson & The Northstars with Tim Saxhaug, and Martin Sexton.

A seasonal festival with three very different musical acts, a folk troubadour covering The Beatles, and an Iron Range rock band with an all-star guest — you can find them all and more around the area this weekend.

Your input can help us shape the future our programming, including this feature. Take this survey to share how our cultural programming has impacted you.

First up, Brock Beaulieu is playing at Brigid's Irish Pub in Bemidji, Friday night at 7 p.m. A soulful singer and bluesy guitarist, Beaulieu plays a mix of original music and covers. You can also find him playing guitar and bass with fellow Bemidji band Corey Medina & Brothers.

Klocktoberfest is this Saturday in Grand Rapids with three musical acts throughout the day. Also Saturday at a brewery in Grand Rapids, Rich Mattson & The Northstars are playing Rapids Brewing Co. at 7 p.m. The long-running Iron Range rock 'n' rollers will be joined by Tim Saxhaug of Trampled By Turtles on bass. Their latest release was the single "Not The Answer" this May.

Finally, acclaimed folk singer and one-man band Martin Sexton will be at Rapids Brewing Co. on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Sexton is on a tour playing the final Beatles album Abbey Road from front to back, along with his own original music. Malachy started his radio career in 2017 at a college radio station, where he played weird music in the middle of the night to possibly no one. On a good night maybe his parents were listening. Nonetheless, he was hooked on public radio and is still doing it today.

He joined Northern Community Radio in 2022, where he gets to share his passion for local music as Producer of Minnesota Mixtape, an all Minnesota music show airing Fridays at 10 a.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m. You can also find him hosting Headwaters and curating The Setlist.
