Events Up North Sept. 22-27: Honktoberfest, Great Northern Art Show

Events this week include a community gathering in Brainerd, a memorial blood drive in Baxter, a modern dance film showing in Puposky and a book launch in Bemidji.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

  • Honktoberfest - 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Biwabik
  • Brainerd Lakes Area Walk to End Alzheimer's - 9 a.m. registration at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with the walk to follow.
  • Itasca Pride Community Tree Planting - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northern Lights Community School in Warba. Events include a free barbecue, live music, games and disc golf.
  • Loon Country Arts presents the Great Northern Art Show - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Beltrami County History Center in Bemidji
  • A Year in the Life of North America's Woodpeckers - 2 p.m. at Sax-Zim Bog. Meet at the Lois King Education Center.
